Waaaay before the April 2019 release of the major motion picture, Shazam!, starring Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, and Mark Strong, I ried casting a Shazam! movie and here's what I had to say!

I'm just as excited about the prospect of a SHAZAM! movie as every other Marvel Family Fan. So, it's about time I updated this page with some of my new choices for the SHAZAM! cast! I tried to be realistic in my choices... so no wrestlers or neo-celebs who merely look like the characters. All the choices I made are working actors. I certainly don't have an inside track on the movie and its casting, these are simply the actors that I'd like to see in the roles. 	CAPTAIN MARVEL Brendan Fraser proved that he was adept with both comedy and drama in the 1999 movie THE MUMMY! With his ability to not take himself too seriously and Celtic good looks, Fraser is the perfect choice for the Big-Screen Red Cheese! Brendan Fraser has starred in numerous films over the years and easily moves back and forth between comedy and drama!

	BILLY BATSON Drake Bell has the natural good looks to take on the role of Billy Batson and it doesn't hurt that he starred in his own TV show, DRAKE AND JOSH. Drake has also appeared in the movie HIGH FIDELITY and as a regular on THE AMANDA SHOW.

	SHAZAM What can be said about Michael Caine other than he's the actor's actor. Caine has appeared in numerous movies over his nearly 50 year career. Taking on the role of the wizard Shazam would just be icing on the cake. Caine can be seen in BATMAN BEGINS, BEWITCHED, THE QUIET AMERICAN, MISS CONGENIALITY, NOISES OFF, GET CARTER, DEATHTRAP and ZULU among other films.

	MARY MARVEL Amanda Bynes showed off big screen chops in WHAT A GIRL WANTS as well as her small screen presence on THE AMANDA SHOW and WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU. With her girl next door looks, Amanda could easily fill the boots of the World's Mightiest Girl.
This actor has portrayed Mary Marvel on TV: Dawn Jeffory - Kid Superpower Hour with Shazam! Suggestions:

	CAPTAIN MARVEL JUNIOR Liam Aiken has most recently appeared in LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS as Klaus Baudelaire. Liam could easily tackle the role of the World's Mightiest Boy, Captain Marvel Junior! Liam has also starred in ROAD TO PERDITION and STEPMOM.

	BLACK ADAM Arnold Vosloo is the ultimate bad guy. He generally plays calm, cool and brainy villains in the movies and on TV. He played the villainous Habib Marwan in the fourth season of Fox's hit TV show 24 and is internationally recnognized as the titular character in the 1999 movie THE MUMMY! Vosloo has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows over the years including DARKMAN II and DARKMAN III, HARD TARGET and STEEL DAWN.
Suggestions:

	DR. SIVANA Ron Rifkin plays Arvin Sloane, the man you love to hate, on the TV show ALIAS. There's no question that he could easily take on the maddest scientist around! You may also remember the talented Mr. Rifkin from such movies and TV shows as L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, THE NEGOTIATOR, ER and LAW AND ORDER.

	UNCLE DUDLEY If one thing's clear, Peter Boyle's many years in show business has proven his acting skills. Boyle is great at both drama and comedy and his most recent turns in EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND and MONSTER'S BALL cements his reputation as both a dramatic and comedic actor. Boyle has also appeared in THE SANTA CLAUSE, MEN OF RESPECT, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, TAXI DRIVER and CRAZY JOE and JOE.
This actor has portrayed Uncle Dudley on TV: Alan Oppenheimer Suggestions:

CAPTAIN NAZI David Anders plays Julian Sark, nemesis to Jennifer Garner's Sydney Bristow, on ABC's hit TV show ALIAS. This fair-haired actor could easily step into the shoes of the evil Captain Nazi. David Anders has also guest-starred on CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION and CHARMED.

	MR. TAWKY TAWNY Dennis Franz has the perfect voice for the talking tiger. Although Dennis won't be seen in the film, his voice will be instantly recognized. Dennis Franz played Detective Andy Sipowicz on ABC Televison's hit cop drama NYPD BLUE. Dennis has appeared in numerous televsion shows and movies including HILL STREET BLUES, BLOW OUT, BEVERLY HILLS BUNTZ, POPEYE and CHICAGO STORY. One of Dennis' first movie roles was in Brian DePalma's THE FURY.

	SINCLAIR BATSON Josh Holloway has made a name for himself playing the slick conman Sawyer on the hit ABC TV show LOST. Holloway could very ably fill the shows of businessman Sinclair Batson.
Suggestions:

	BEAUTIA SIVANA Jennifer Garner plays one of the strongest, smartest and most beautiful female leads in television history as Sydney Bristow in the hit ABC TV show ALIAS. Garner would make a fine choice to play Captain Marvel's love interest, the captivating daughter of the evil Dr. Sivana, Beautia! Jennifer Garner moves between the small screen and the big screen quite easily and has starred in 13 GOING ON 30, ELEKTRA and DAREDEVIL.
Suggestions:

	STERLING MORRIS William Shatner has proven himself as both as Captain Kirk on the TV show STAR TREK and as the secret weapon of both TV and movies. With his turns as Stan Fielding in MISS CONGENIALITY I and II as well as lawyer Denny Crane on BOSTON LEGAL, you can count on Shatner to deliver the goods! Bill Shatner has starred in several successful movies and TV shows during his many years in show business including T.J. HOOKER, RESCUE 911, and the cult hit FREE ENTERPRISE.
