Another of Captain Marvel's early powers was his massive strength. Cap used it first to smash Dr. Sivana's Radio Silencer — by throwing one of Sivana's henchmen into the equipment. He also used it to rip open an elevator door and grabbing on to the elevator's cable, he was able to pull the cab up with his bare hands. This great strength was another ability that he shared with his inspiration — Superman!
Cap's great strength comes from the hero, Hercules, and is augmented by the power of Zeus!
